Procedure

Students will review shape lesson and discuss how shapes are all around us. We will then lead into an introduction to Landscape Art: A landscape is the branch of art dealing with the painting, drawing, or photography of scenery. Although this activity is not a painting it does involve putting together elements to make a landscape. We will then talk about foreground, middle ground and background and how this will relate to our collage. I will then hand out the worksheets and let them quietly color in the shapes to build their house. When they show my they are done coloring and decorating i will have them put their crayons away and give them scissors to cut up all their objects. Once they have thrown away the excess paper I will let them choose a piece of construction paper to paste their objects on. Once they finish this I will let them add one decorations in the background with their crayons.

Below are the worksheets needed for this project.
